Important note: Receipt of a 1098-T form does not imply that a student is eligible for a federal education tax credit. For more information on these tax credits, please refer to the IRS website. Form 1098-T is informational only. Educational institutions are required to report to the IRS amounts paid toward qualified tuition and related expenses, as well as scholarships and/or grants, taxable or not. Form 1098-T is prepared each year by the end of January for those students who had reportable transactions in the preceding calendar year. It should not be considered as tax opinion or advice. Please give this form to your tax preparer to help determine if you are eligible for any tax credits. Note: The Amridge University staff members are unable to provide students or their families with individual tax advice, but should you have questions, please seek the counsel of an informed tax preparer or adviser. Accessing Billing Record in the Self-Service Portal To aid in the understanding of your payments received, please access your account information here. You should review your billing transactions and report actual amounts paid during the year, ensuring that you do not report the same payments in two tax years. Qualified tuition and related expenses include tuition, comprehensive fees, and course fees. When determining amounts actually paid towards eligible tuition and related expenses, you should include payments made using personal funds, student loan funds (less any refunds received), or alternative loans (less any refunds received). Thank you, Amridge University | |
