We are working on a cross platform solution to this problem but at this time we have a couple of work around options. The first option listed is the simplest solution. The second option requires a couple of extra steps to play the videos but should work for all sessions.
1.) Install the browser Google Chrome from the following site: www.google.com/chrome . In most cases Google Chrome plays the video back with the click of the mouse on the link without any extra configuration. The sessions will play within the browser.
2.) Install the VLC Media Player from the following link: http://www.videolan.org/ . You will need to scroll down on this page to find the download links for VLC listed by Operating System type ie: Windows, MAC, etc. Once you install the VLC Player you will go to your programs list and look for the VideoLan folder, inside that folder you will select the VLC media player option. With the player open you will need to log into your course and copy the link shown for the archive class session. You will then go to the player and select media at the top of the player and a dropdown menu will appear. Select Network Stream and paste in the link and hit play. Your archive session will play in the VLC player at this point. To view a short Tutorial on using the VLC Media Player, please click the following link http://www.screencast.com/t/J2m1Mnsau .
